Dear Fred,

Thank you for allowing me to speak at the Conservative Order of Good Guys monthly luncheon on March 9th. I enjoyed the opportunity to share some of my thoughts on issues important to your members.

I received your e-mail letter, and I am grateful for your support in my primary campaign. As you know, I am up against a well-funded primary opponent. My efforts, in addition to getting my message out to as many groups as possible as I travel throughout the state, are focused on my postcard campaign, and on fundraising. I deeply appreciate your offer of support, and will have my staff contact you to discuss ways in which you may be able to assist us.

I would be delighted to receive some material on your vision for California's public schools. Our state could do no better than to have a man such as yourself as Inspector General of Education. As chairman of the House subcommittee on Education, I know first-hand the importance of right-minded local activists such as yourself to the future of public school reform in our state.
